Any good ideas to control diabetes and reverse A1C?

How do you control your diabetes? I've been living with diabetes for 6 years and it is a constant mental stress...

  1. Hi . Diabetes can be so incredibly stressful because it commands your attention every minute of every day. It is hard to say what my help without knowing what you have tried, but one option would be to see a dietitian who specializes in diabetes if you haven;t done so already. Exercise and weight loss can also be very helpful. Here is an article about Type 2 diabetes treatments that might also interest you: https://type2diabetes.com/treatment. I hope this helps. 1. Keep sugar and carbohydrate intake at a minimum after 7:00 PM; have your A1C tested every 4 months; take all medications as directed by your physician.

      1. Hello , These are some great tips and good ones. I know for me, this is when I want to eat more is after 7 pm. It seems that evening is the most relaxing time. What would you suggest for people who like eating late? We would love to hear from you. Thanks for sharing. Diane (Team Member)

      2. I suggest eating a healthy, filling dinner before 7:00 PM, and then STOP eating everything by 7:00 PM. Drink only healthy fluids that make you feel full.

    2. Diet

      1. Hi . Dietary changes certainly can make a big difference. Have you found that changing your diet has helped? Best wishes. - Lori (Team Member)

      2. Hello , My doctors have been telling me to diet for over 30 years. I'm 5'2 and 135 pounds. They say to diet but don't tell you what is proper to eat. We all know to cut out sugar and carbs, but there is more to this. What does your diet consist of? We would love to hear from you. Diane (Team Member)

    3. eat balanced meals and remember portion control.

      1. Great advice! Do you feel that this works well for you? -Lauren (team member)

      2. Hello , Thanks for the great reminder that we have to remember portion control. This seems to be the hardest part for people. How do you keep your portions under control? I struggle with this myself. Any tips? Diane (Team Member)
