Newly Diagnosed With Diabetes: Bbarfield

Hello everyone! Admitted to hospital a month ago with blood sugar at 735 and A1C at 15.6. Surprise to me! After a regimen of shots daily and metformin I am doing so much better. Found this site and eager to learn and share. Happy 4th!

I'll tell you something that has worked great for me with my A1C and sugars is an insulin pump..the first night having it on overnight I woke up in the morning and my sugar was 125 upon waking up.. it gives me excellent control of my sugars..I have a dexcom G6 and a tandem pump..I love them both.. I've had them for over 4 years...

It is of utmost importance that you set yourself on a path for maintaining your blood sugar levels gradually and responsibly, with healthy food choices including more fruits, veggies, and whole grains (but cutting back on sugars) as well as physical exercise.
