Women's hormones & blood glucose

Hi, I haven't found an app or feature within the CGM apps that lets me customize specific to my cycle, has anyone else? For example, I become more insulin resistant right before my period, and it feels like it catches me off guard every month. Are people creating profiles for different parts of their cycle or just manually adjusting? How are other people doing this right now?

  1. Hi . Those would be some great strategies for managing your blood sugar in a different way. I haven't heard of an app that does this, but I don't use a CGM. I hope you get some input from others in the community. Wishing you the best. - Lori (Team Member)

  2. I haven’t seen a CGM app with that kind of feature either, it would be so helpful. A lot of people track patterns over time and make adjustments based on what they notice, often with guidance from their care team. Some also use notes or calendar reminders to stay ahead of those changes. A cycle based feature would be amazing to have someday!

  3. You’re definitely not alone in this. Most CGM apps still don’t really have cycle tracking built in, so people kind of figure out their own system.

I’ve seen others use notes in their CGM, or a separate period tracking app, or just learn the pattern over time and adjust from there.

That pre-period insulin resistance you mentioned is something a lot of people notice too, so it makes sense it feels like it comes out of nowhere.

Is yours pretty consistent each month or does it vary?
