Things to eat to lower blood sugar

Just recently diagnosed with type 2 with hyperglycemic blood sugar. I play a lot of golf. What can i snack/eat during play that will keep or lower my sugar. I tried apples, grapes, wheat crackers with PB this last time, but it didn’t seem to work. I am trying to fight this with a diet and metformin right now. Thanks!

  1. , welcome! I know a new diagnosis can be overwhelming, but you've come to the right place! I hope others will chime in with some of their ideas too. There might be some trial and error when first diagnosed, as what works for some, may not always work for others.

Here are some snack ideas to get you started: https://type2diabetes.com/nutrition/snacks, & https://type2diabetes.com/nutrition/snack-ideas-100-calories-or-less.

    Hope this helps!

    1. Hi! Just wondering since you originally asked the question if you have found what works even some of the time? Please keep us updated. Your suggestions can help the community struggling with the same. Shelley, moderator.

      1. Babybel cheese has zero carbs as well as hard boiled eggs

        1. Great suggestion Shawn. I also really like both and they are filling as well. Any other suggestions to share? Shelley, community moderator 🇨🇦
