Sleep

Normal waking blood sugar is 90-110 Ive heard. If my blood sugar is in that range, but at the low end, like for example 95, I get insomnia and can’t sleep. Anyone else notice this?

  1. Hi . I am guessing you are not alone. Low blood sugar can cause irritation, which might keep you awake. I hope others chime in with their own experiences. Another member recently asked about low blood sugar and strange dreams. Here is a link to that forum: https://type2diabetes.com/forums/does-low-blood-sugar-cause-strange-dreams. I thought it might interest you. Best wishes. - Lori (Team Member)

    1. I talked to my counselor about this because I was dealing with it. What she told me was that although 95 is good range, sometimes our body hasn't adjusted to functioning at that range and will take time. It won't be an over night thing. B. Keith Crear III (Team Member)
