as stated, exercise is good to bring down your blood sugar. But it's best to do an activity that you are accustomed to. If you have not been a runner in the past, running may cause the opposite effect. It may cause blood sugar to rise more.
A good rule of thumb is to do an activity that you can talk, but not able to sing. Moderate exercise is the best. High intensity exercises will cause blood sugar to rise. Then recover, allow your heart rate to come down and wait 45 - 60 minutes before checking blood sugar. It will take time for your body to recover and blood sugar to stablize.
