Once a month injection meds

I am newly diagnosed type 2 diabetic.
I'm on the newer meds that have mostly GI side effects and I wondered if anyone has found a good ho.e remedy that helps.

  1. Hi . Welcome to the community! Are you taking a semiglutide? I have not heard of any good home remedies for the side effects, but I hope others will join in here with ideas. Most people have to ride out the first few weeks until their bodies adjust and they feel better. How do you feel about the journey ahead? Are you ready or able to make some dietary and/or lifestyle changes as well? Know that we are here for you. Warm wishes. - Lori (Team Member)

    1. Yes I am on mounjaro. I wasn't sure if I should mention the drug name. I have been trying to eat right but a diabetic menu is new to me. Any recipes are more than welcome!
I am retired except for farm chores so I can take it easy when I have to. I did get some ginger tea but wasn't impressed.
Thanks for your support...its lonesome out here.

      1. I'm sure it is sometimes. We have some great recipes here: https://type2diabetes.com/recipes. However, one really easy way to get started in the plate method. You simply fill half your plate with veggies, one quarter with protien and one quarter with carbs. Here is an article about it: https://type2diabetes.com/nutrition/meal-planning-pro. It took a long time to develop the eating habits you have now. Give yourself time and grace to develop new ones. You'll find lots of great tips here, but it can also help to ask your doctor for a referral to a dietician, if you haven't seen one already. I hope this helps and that you will keep us update on your progress. Thinking of you. - Lori (Team Member)
