Coping without medication

Hi I am new to this group and I am having a problem. I was doing really well with my diabetes. I released over 100 lbs and got off of all my diabetic medication. Maybe 6 or 8 months ago. Since I have been off my medications I have been struggling. I am back sliding into my old ways. I am also a compulsive over eater in a 12 step group and I am struggling with that as well. Thank you in advance for any and all help and/or suggestions.

  1. Hello , this was such a great topic that you brought up a few years ago. I was in the same boat as you. I lost 60 pounds, got off of medication and started eating right. After 6 months I went back to my old habits. I didn't want to get back on medications, so I got a diaetian to work with me. This worked out great for me. I was able to learn what was good and what wasn't. For me it was about the taste of food. If it doesn't taste delicious, I don't want to eat it. I was able to learn what makes foods delicious without making them fattening. As of today, I am still off of medication, but it does take dedication and hard work. Share what you do to stay off of medication. Diane (Team Member)
