Nausea type 2 diabetes

I am just wondering what you guys do to help with nausea. I have started having Trulicity injections and I am nauseous most days.

  1. Do you think the nausea is related to the Trulicity? Have you had a chance to talk to your doctor about it? Trulicity's website's side effects section doesn't list nausea per se, but states that the drug can sometimes cause severe stomach problems and asks patients to tell their healthcare provider if stomach problems that are severe or won't go away. There can be other causes of nausea, as well, such as dehydration that is linked to the diabetes itself. Again, asking your doctor is a good first step. All the best, Kathy (Team member)

  2. Ugh yeah, that’s pretty common with Trulicity. Some people find smaller meals or lighter foods help when the nausea hits. Ginger tea or crackers can sometimes ease it too. It usually settles after a few weeks, but if it’s really bad, definitely worth checking in with your doctor

  3. Ugh that sounds really tough, nausea can be so draining. You’re definitely not alone, I’ve seen quite a few people mention that when starting something new.

For me, smaller meals and staying hydrated helped a bit, and I tried to avoid foods that made it worse. It took a little time for my body to adjust too.

Curious what’s helped others as well, have you noticed anything that makes it better or worse so far?
