I started off with the Verio OneTouch but after a year or so, I upgraded to the Keto-Mojo GK+. I'm not currently monitoring my keytones as I'm not on a Keto diet and I'm not currently trying to get into ketosis. I did get the meter because it came highly rated at the time.
Recently however, I have been thinking my Keto-Mojo GK+ may not be as accurate as it should be. I ended up researching the latest meters on the market today and I ended up settling on the Ascensia Contour Next Gen and the Accu-Check Guide. I purchased both and I've been running them side-by-side against my Keto-Mojo GK+.
Here is what I have observed thus far...
The Keto-Mojo GK+ and the Ascensia Contour Next Gen run neck-and-neck in terms of overall glucose readings. The Accu-Check Guide on the other hand always reads higher, but still within range (more or less).
I find it so very odd that glucose meters can have such a wide swing in deviation from brand to brand. They all make claims of "Most Accurate Meter" or "98% Accuracy", etc. yet at the end of the day, which one is actually more or less accurate than the others? Researching online is a veritable crap shoot depending on which blog post you read and who you believe.
So instead of settling on just one meter, I'm testing using all three and taking the average. Time will tell - My next A1C check isn't for a few more months. Hopefully that will tell me whether I'm on the right track or not.
I'd love to know which meters others are using and what your experience(s) have been.
Kind regards!
