Ceylon Cinnamon

I get tons of ads on facebook about Ceylon Cinnamon with Mct oil. All the companies seem to have a similar package type and similar ( but not identical ) picture.
1) are all the brands pretty equivalent?
2) Does this stuff actually work?

  1. Testing

    1. Hi . Research has shown that cinnamon might help reduce blood sugar levels, but only slightly and you have to be careful to use Ceylon cinnamon, not Cassia cinnamon. Cassia can cause liver problems in high doses. Here is an article about cinnamon and type 2 diabetes that might interest you: https://type2diabetes.com/nutrition/cinnamon. You should always check with your doctor before taking any supplement, especially one that might interaction with other blood sugar management medications though.
It's hard to say whether one brand is better than another because the FDA does not regulate supplements. Your best bet is to look for brands that have third-party testing certification seals on the label. Your pharmacist might also be knowledgeable about the most trustworthy brands.
I hope this helps. Warmly, Lori (Team Member)
