Fear of eating

Hello, I'm a 12 year type 2 diabetic that over the last year really fell off the wagon. A1C IS 9.2 and even though I know I can get it down I have been having these irrational fears of eating. Not wanting to spike is my main fear.

I guess my question would be how common is this fear? Also what has anyone done to help with this?

Thank you so very much for your time!

  1. Hi Idaho Type 2,
Thank you for opening up and sharing your fear. You are not alone in your fear of eating and how that food may impact your blood sugar control. The good news is that small dietary changes can positively impact your blood sugar and help you reach your A1C target. Have you ever met with a registered dietitian or diabetes educator? These health professionals can provide valuable information on lifestyle changes, such as dietary modifications.
