Do You Use A Fitbit Or Any Other Kind Of Health Tracker?

I had one of these years ago, wasn't a fan of them back in the day. I just bought a new one recently, it is very nice. I am somewhat active now, but my new toy keeps track of how many calories I have burned. It checks my heart rate and my sleeping habits. I like it because it motivates me to do better and get in my daily steps.

Do you have any type of health tracker? If so, which one do you use? We would love to hear from you. Diane (Team Member)

  1. Do you used a health tracker?

    1. Health trackers can help us monitor our daily activity. This could be tracking steps, calories, and heart rate. My tracker helped me make informed decisions such as you are at your calorie intake today - eat more veggies. And some trackers can provide information to help improve cardiovascular fitness. Would you ever consider getting a tracker? I have lost 60 pounds while using it. We would like to hear from you. Diane (Team Member)

      1. What model fit it? And Android or iPhone?

        1. Hubs bought us used Apple Watches. I had had a really sustained, uncomfortable bout of arrhythmia, about 36 hours, and an ER visit. Signed myself out, as they did nothing to reverse it. Sector said he could keep me for observation. Like no. Glad to be able to get an EKG if I’m having issues. Due to the Coastal GA heat and humidity, I do not tolerate even walking outdoors. Plus much arthritis and neuropathy, not really using all the features of the watch. Hopeful exercise will be easier if I can lose some weight.

The surprise was when hubs started leaving his watch on overnight. His heart rate was dropping to 35-40 beats per minute. The watch was waking him up, with alarms. Got him into his pulmy, who ordered overnight oximetry, plus sent to cardiologist, who ordered further tests and sleep study. Ended up my spouse has severe, dangerous obstructive sleep apnea. Now he’s being treated, got the events way down. We wouldn’t have known, were it not for his Apple Watch.

          1. Wow! Thank goodness he had that watch. Sleep apnea can cause serious and, potentially, fatal heart problems over time. That watch probably gave him many more years of life and a better quality of life as well. Is he using a CPAP and, if so, is he tolerating it well? My husband has had one for 13 years and can't sleep without it. Thanks for joining the conversation. Wishing you the best. - Lori (Team Member)
