What advice would you give to someone with type 2 diabetes?

We all know we need to eat healthy and exercise. Join a support group have you need to.

What other information would you give to someone who just got a diagnosis?

  1. Take things one moment at a time. Focus on one goal at time and give yourself grace when things don't turn out as it should. - CJ (Team Member)

    1. I agree so much with that and you have to be your own best advocate.

      1. Don’t give up! Start small and celebrate even the smallest achievements.

        1. staying on track with taking my medication. I can definitely tell the difference when I take my meds daily and on time.

        2. That's so important! I am glad you've been so consistent and that you are feeling what a difference it can make. Warmest of wishes! - Lori (Team Member)

      2. , This is a big one. It took me years to realize that my numbers were out of whack because I would take my medication when I felt like it. You have to be consistent. I tried different things like pill containers with the days on them, or sitting a timmer. I finally found a pharmacy that would separate my medication, by date and time of day. It has worked great for me. How did you manage to stay on schedule? Thanks for sharing.

        1. thankfully I take all my pills at the same time and my insulin at night so a daily pill box with an alarm on my phone works best for me.
