  1. The kindest thing was when I had a bad day with my diabetes, and my hubby would hug me, or my mom would hug me and that took all the fear away, this is bring tears to my eyes because my mom isn’t here anymore and I’m more scared without her with my diabetes.

    1. my mom would say “aww sweetie you will be okay” I love you. Things like that really made my day. Eased the fear. She gave the best hugs and was very caring. I miss that so much and miss her. I felt more secure with mom with my diabetes.

    2. , thank you for being willing to share. That is so kind and sweet of your mom, she sounds like she was so caring. There's nothing quite like a hug... there are some things that just can't be put into words that can be shared via a hug from a loved one. I think there's also a lot to be said that just being there for a loved one with a chronic condition, like diabetes can be enough. Warmly, Minel (Team Member)

  2. I had been with my sister all morning as she was having cataract surgery. Afterwards we were really hungry. While in McDonalds ordering, I started to crash. One cashier came right over to me and got me a small cup of soda. She stayed with me, helped me order, and walked me to my truck after my order was ready. A real hero in my book.

    1. Oh that's so encouraging to hear. So glad that she was able to recognize that you needed assistance and lend a helpful hand. Thanks for sharing. Best, Kelly, Type2diabetes.com Community Moderator
