Blood Sugar Levels

I know this has probably been discussed a million times.

What is a good Fasting BS level? I was told between 70-100.

What are other good BS levels?
If I eat how much is considered good for your BS to spike and what should it be 2-3 hours after?

I have been told to take your BS before you eat and then take it 2-3 hours after and it should have not spike more the 40 points.

  1. Hi! Thanks for your question, were you told all this by your doctor or a certified diabetes educator? They can be great resources, since everyone may have slightly different targets based on their personalized goals and objectives towards type 2 diabetes management. I hope others may be able to chime in with their specific targets as well. Here's an article you might find helpful for general benchmarks on fasting and after-eating blood sugar levels: https://type2diabetes.com/blood-glucose-control . Many people may test before they eat and then after to understand how a food may impact their numbers. I hope this may help! Please don't hesitate to reach out if you have other questions, even if it's been asked before! I'm sure someone else is curious as well. Best, Minel (Team Member)
