  1. Welcome to our community, Svmajli! How do you feel nowadays? If you're feeling better since you've made the changes and your healthcare provider is on board with your care plan, then keep doing what you're doing. If you continue to stick with your care plan, then you'll likely see even greater results. It sounds like you're doing amazingly well so far!- CJ (Community Moderator)

    1. There exist alternatives to managing diabetes without medications. You would have to put in some hard work, research, and education, but you can significantly reduce or even put your diabetes into remission through diet changes alone.

As explained on this web site https://type2diabetes.com/what-is-t2d

"Type 2 diabetes is a condition that is caused by high blood glucose (sugar). Blood glucose comes from the foods you eat, and it is your main source of energy. Your body makes insulin, a hormone created in the pancreas, to help move glucose from the food you eat into your cells so it can be used for energy."

So, reversing / remission of Type 2 Diabetes is about limiting your intake of what causes the issue in the first place (carbohydrates). I encourage you to look at the diet based approach, and working with a medical professional, start the healing process to reverse your 2TD.

      1. Hi . Thanks for chiming in. Dietary and lifestyle changes are always the best way to go, but it's not always enough. Some people reach a point where their pancreases can't produce enough insulin even for a diet low on the glycemic index and/or their bodies become resistant to the insulin they do produce. At that point, medication is the only option. Others need time to change a lifetime's worth of habits. Medication can help them stay safe while they work toward healthier lifestyles. How awesome though that you have been able to stay off medication. Wishing you the very best. - Lori (Team Member)
