Did You Know That What You Eat Could Stop Your Medication From Working?

I was talking to my doctor and she was telling me to cut back on my sugar. (again) I told her that I don't use that much sugar anymore and that I use artificial sweeteners now. She started telling me that some sweeteners needed to be taken with food, some on an empty stomach, and some with food.

Long story short, all sweeteners are not treated equally. If you used any of these, are they affecting your sugar numbers by making them worse? What suggestions do you have? Diane (Team Member)

  1. When your diabetes medication stops working, see your doctor at once. They will want to know whether your routine has changed. Many factors can affect how your medication is working. Things like weight gain, diet changes, activity, and any illness. Is there anything stopping your medication from working? We would like to hear from you. Diane (Team Member)
