The availability of Ozempic in pharmacies is extremely low.

Last year, my endocrinologist prescribed me Ozempic (by the way, I'm satisfied with the result, but after increasing the dose, I started having diarrhea), in recent months I have faced the problem of out-of-stock, the last time I ordered Ozempic from a Canadian insulin store https://insulin.store/ozempic/, everything went well, but they are running out of it.
Does anyone know how long such problems will last and whether I should switch to another drug?

  1. Hi . We are hearing more and more lately from people who are having trouble getting Ozempic. Here is some information I found from a pharmacutical organization that keeps track of such things: https://www.ashp.org/drug-shortages/current-shortages/drug-shortage-detail.aspx?id=813&loginreturnUrl=SSOCheckOnly and here is a CNN article about the shortage: https://www.cnn.com/2023/10/06/health/ozempic-mounjaro-supply/index.html. It looks like the issue is, once again, the high demand for Ozempic as a weight loss drug. CNN's sources estimate we will be dealing with occassional shortages for a few years before the makers can continuously keep us with demand. You might want to talk to your doctor about whether it would be wise to switch to something else until the supply is more consistent. I hope this helps. Best wishes. - Lori (Team Member)
