New AI based diabetic retinopathy screening cameras in primary care

Hello. I just read on reddit that there is some kind of new AI cameras in primary care to screen for diabetic retinopathy. Where could i find primary care centre with these new cameras with AI?

I quess its also cheaper to use AI to check eyes as this person said on reddit. For me the price for check have been little too high and i suppose this could make my yearly care costs down a little. Additionally you should be able to get an result on the same visit which sounds like really good.

This is the reddit link i read about this new tech:

This is the video he had posted about the camera:

  1. Hi . It is an interesting use of AI technology. Here is s study from the National Institutes of Health that concludes people are more likely to follow up with ophthalmology after positive results with Artificial Intelligence-based workflow for diabetic retinopathy screening, which I find interesting: https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC10665027/. If you are interested in trying it, you could probably call around to a few local ophthalmologist. They would be getting the referrals after positive results, so they would like know where the testing is offered in your area. I hope this helps. Best wishes. - Lori (Team Member)
