Medicare just made a major change regarding qualifying for a CGM!

Medicare has permanently eliminated the 4 times-a-day testing requirement to qualify for a CGM. This long-time barrier to CGM access will be permanently removed on July 18, 2021! The removal of this criterion has been an effort long-led by the ADA, on which we have been actively engaged with CMS.

PWD on Medicare will now be able to more easily access this critical piece of technology, leading to better diabetes management and better health outcomes. A big win for the diabetes community!

  1. This was on my FB news feed almost an hour ago.

    1. I have used a CGM for over a year while on Ozempic without insulin. I just received notice that according to my carrier I no longer am eligible to use it to manage my T2D. I filed an appeal to try to get my carrier to reinstate my right to have it covered.
The real question I have is has anyone one been able to reverse the denial and if you have been, what was it based on?
