My doctor told me just yesterday that I have T2D. It's put me in a tailspin and I feel overwhelmed by feelings of shame and dread. How did you cope with hearing your diagnosis for the first time? Peggy (UK). Submit your own question!

Hi Peggy. I remember feeling upset and stunned even though I had a history of gestational diabetes with my last pregnancy. Your feelings are normal. But be good to yourself. With a bit of time you will learn all about diabetes and how you can get control of it. As Kelly said, you’re not alone here. It will be ok. Shelley, community moderator

Hi Berryhij1. You’re not alone either. It takes a bit of time to learn about diabetes so give yourself that time to learn. We are a supportive community. It will be ok. Shelley, community moderator
