How many carbs should I eat

Why do I have high blood sugar readings while eating less than 30 carbs a day? I’m taking glipizide/metforman and steglatro.

  1. Blood sugar can be tricky. Eating nutritious food and integrating regular movement into your routine can help lower blood sugar levels. It's worth talking to your doctor about your concerns. This article has some information about things that might impact blood sugar aside from carb counting alone: https://type2diabetes.com/living/5-causes-high-blood-sugar. I hope this helps!

    1. Stress and poor sleep can also cause high blood sugars. So can intense work outs. Basically anything that triggers cortisol that then triggers creation of glucose.

Couple of strategies I employ, other than managing stress and getting 7-8 hours sleep every day: get as low as you can on carbs, even go carnivore for awhile , and move to intermittent fasting. Once a week, do a 36 hour fast minimum, and work to improve that to 72 hours.

      1. , Thanks for sharing what is working for you! Wishing you an awesome and stress free week.
