Experiences of CGM devices

Hi everyone,

I'm on the lookout for feedback on the latest CGM devices hitting the market. I've heard about new offerings from Roche, Sibionics, and Sinocare and am curious if anyone here has had the chance to try them or participated in any trials.

I'm considering switching to a newer CGM technology for better glucose management and would really appreciate hearing your experiences or thoughts on these new technologies. Any insights you can share would help me (and probably others here) make a more informed decision.

Thanks in advance!

  1. Hi ! I see you are new to the community. Welcome! I am glad you posted this. I'm sure others will be interested in what you learn. I hope others chime in. For now, I thought I would share this article with you about the new models of two devices: https://type2diabetes.com/clinical/dexcom-libre-cgm. Wishing you the best. - Lori (Team Member)

    1. Hello , My husband just received his new device. First off, we are both in our 60's. These things have to be compatible with your phone!! Our phones are only 2 years old, but won't work with this new device. So we have to get new ones. His doctor wanted him to get this new fangle thing, which is still sitting in the box. Sorry, I don't have much more to add, but will be heading out next week for new phones. Thanks for being part of this community and hope to hear more from you. Diane (Team Member)

      1. We are in our 60's as well😉 and my husband is the one with blood sugar level issues. Our experience with and research of All the CGM's has been very "enlightening" to say the least. There have been many false "high" sugar readings when comparing to the finger stick to verify. Vigorous exercise or Vibration like when using the roto-Tiller for example caused the entire day of Scans to show false lows. Not hypoglycaemic lows, just severe # drops which at first we were excited about. But then, to verify, he did a finger stick and there was a 40 point difference! That's pretty substantial ! Caused me to do deep research from users of these products and also various Diabetes information sites having no connection to the products... and found the truth about the need and the inaccuracies of these monitors. Very sad, really, considering the many people depending on them. I would suggest you do your own research., Staying away from any who are promoting or comparing these products. - As for us, the proof I found about the immediate accuracy of 0.08 (being almost 100%) for the finger Stick VS a 15-20 % for the monitor reading to be more than enough proof Where my husbands health is Concerned. Don'twaste the money on a new phone or the monitors. Stick to the old fashioned prooved way !

        1. Hi . What valuable insight! I was considering getting my husband a GMC when they become available over the counter, but I am rethinking that after reading about your experience. He is always on the mower or the tractor. The last thing he needs is false lows. He is prediabetic and it's been really hard to persuade him he needs to change his eating habits. False lows would only bolster his case. Thanks again! - Lori (Team Member)

        2. Hello , thanks for some great information. It is a lot to think about. I will look into this. Our health is more important. Thanks for sharing this. It's very enlightening. I'm glad I didn't get those new phones yet. Diane (Team Member)
