db - Losing Weight for a Diabetic

Hello, my name is db. I learned that I have Type 2 diabetes about 3 years ago. I am a 60 year old female. I have had problems losing weight and diabetic nerve pain is bad in my legs and feet. I know I am about 50 pounds overweight. I have tried eating right and exercising and only lose about 1 - 2 pounds, then gain back 2 - 3 pounds Please offer suggestion on how to accomplish my goal of a lower BMI. I will lose this weight, I believe it!!

  1. , thank you for your question! It can be really tough to lose weight, especially when managing other health conditions and complications like neuropathy. I hope others in the community will chime in to share what's helped them.

    1. I use my Fitbit app and my glucose monitor app to regulate my diet and exercise program. I do water aerobics 3 to 5 times a week, and carb load before exercising. I am 66 and have lost 65 lb in the last 2 years. I am honest about putting everything that goes into my mouth into my fitbit. I no longer take injectable insulin, and have cut the dose on one of my oral medications. My A1C went from 8.6 to 6.1, and has stayed 6.1 without the injectable insulin for over 6 months.
