Scrumptious Steamed Broccoli

Looking for a quick side dish that’s healthy and tastes great? This is a quick, easy option that checks all the boxes. Broccoli is full of fiber and antioxidants, which make it a great choice for everyone, even when you are living with diabetes. The steamer keeps the nutrients mostly intact so you can receive all the health benefits broccoli has to offer!

Cook time: 4 minutes

Ingredients for steamed broccoli

  • 2 cups broccoli, chopped
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder

Directions for steamed broccoli

  1. In a vegetable steamer, once water is boiling add broccoli to basket and cook for 4 minutes or until slightly tender and bright green.
  2. For the stovetop method, bring water to a boil and place broccoli in a steaming basket on top until tender and bright green.
  3. Transfer to serving dish.
  4. Top with spices and stir until well-coated.
  5. Serve immediately!
