Workplace and Diabetes

Apparently my job doesn’t understand Diabetes. Lol I mean I have to keep my paperwork at my desk, I’m questioned about bathroom and insulin breaks and my snacks. Its a continuous fight!! They say Type2 is not that serious wow!!

  1. Hello , I understand. Sometimes our jobs don't understand. T2D can be very serious. My mom died from it. I hope that things have improved for you. Sometimes you just have to educate people. Thanks for sharing. We would loved to hear about what has been going on with you. Diane (Team Member)

    1. I would be discussing this with Labour Relations, and if your in a Union I would speak to my Union Rep. this is harassment on the job about your medical condition. And they can’t fire you for looking into this. Or go to your Human Resources at your job and put in a complaint. This is harassment and If it were me I would be very serious about it.

      1. Wise advice, . Here is an article about workplace rights for and anyone else who is interested: https://type2diabetes.com/living-with-t2d/workplace. Thanks for chiming in! - Lori (Team Member)

    2. I would definitely contact HR and possibly EEOC in regards to that. But Lori Foster on this thread did post a great article link about workforce rights. B. Keith Crear III (Team Member)
