Learning to reading labels can be helpful, but you can also working on just learning basic information about foods that are highest in unhealthy carbs first. That category would include things like white bread, potatoes chips, French fries, pastries, sugary drinks, white pasta. Can you pick one of those foods to avoid for a few weeks and see how it goes? It can take three weeks of doing something every day to develop new habits. It you try to make one healthy change a month, you'll have incorporated 12 healthy changes into your life by the end of a year.
