Thanks for commenting. This is a great suggestion. Some find it helpful to pick up an appetizer size plate at a party to help keep portions smaller. Can always go back for more if needed. Appreciate you being part of our community. Best, Kelly, Type2diabetes.com Community moderator

Hello , Just following up to see how things are going. You spoke about eating in moderation and portions. Are you still sticking to that? I'm trying, but it is not easy. We would love to hear from you. Diane (Team Member)

Eat a healthy snack before going to the holiday meal. A healthy snack may be a fiber - filled salad along with protein. This will decrease the risk of overeating or making poor choices at the holiday meal. Looking forward to the holidays, Community Moderator

My Diabetic Counselor advised me to eat in moderation and make the BEST decisions possible with what is given. Holiday eating is a carb & sugar fest. What I did was I made sure I consumed a fiber smoothie to help coat my stomach before I was set to go eat. It helped with making eat less. B.Keith Crear III (Team Member)

Sure there are two I drink regularly. I make a apple, kale, strawberry & raspberry smoothie and a Pear, kale, blueberry & blackberry smoothie. Both with Almond milk. Or if I dont have time to make a smoothie, I simply just snack on some almonds, pecans or peanuts. Hope this helps. -B. Keith Crear III (Team Member)
