I live on a fixed income and eating healthy is a real challenge for me. I try to freeze meals when I can. I'm looking for ideas for diabetic-friendly meals that freeze well.

https://type2diabetes.com/nutrition/budget-friendly-healthy-eating and https://type2diabetes.com/living/meal-prep-ideas. Soups are a great meal to make ahead and freeze. Check out our recipes page and search by type of recipe or ingredient. Such as "soup" or "Lunch", etc. Best, Kelly, Type2diabetes.com Community Moderator

1. Choose healthy foods: focus on lean protein, vegetables, whole grains, and healthy fats.
2. Plan ahead: make sure to have all the ingredients you need on hand so that you can easily make healthy meals throughout the week.
3. Be portion-conscious: portion out your food in advance so that you're not overeating or consuming too many sugary or high-fat foods.
4. Keep it simple: start with basic recipes and then build up from there as you get more comfortable with meal prepping.
5. Make it fun: find ways to enjoy the process of meal prepping, such as listening to music or watching TV while you cook.

My husband takes care of that. He knows a lot about nutrition.

question for you: do you think creating low sugar / low carb donuts at home would work? I am just curious because my wife makes for me and I find it a great to manage cravings...
good luck...
