DKA questions

I have been T2 for 25 years but after an error on my part (not taking meds for 6 weeks) I ended up in ICU with severe DKA. Now I am insulin dependent. I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced this, the outcome and how well you are managing. Even with Novalog 3x day and Lantus (34units) at night, my BS is still over 200. Sometimes 350. What am I doing wrong? Why doesn't it come down? This seems like large dosages......

    1. Hi . I am so sorry no one responded to your question sooner. It must have slipped past us somehow. Have you gotten your blood sugar under control yet? Has your doctor offered any explanation? I am guessing the whole situation has been very stressful for you. Thinking of you and wishing you the best. - Lori (Team Member)
