I recently switched to a new PCP. My first blood test confirmed that I am a diabetic. I’m 78 and have faithfully taken annual physicals, which always included blood tests. This is the first time I was made aware of my diabetes. Is this unusual?
Hi , I recently found out that I am diabetic as well, I am 63. It came as a complete surprise, it was like my body just suddenly decided not to work. You're absolutely not alone - Warmly, Donna (team member)

I was diabetic for two years before my doctor bothered telling me.

, That's shocking, and unacceptable. I hope you have found a doctor now, that is a better communicator!

I’m so sorry. Today’s U.S. healthcare system leaves a lot to be desired. In addition to the diabetes diagnosis, I just found out that I have calcification in one of my heart arteries. Something else that should have been detected earlier.

, You are so right... this healthcare system leaves something to be desired. People should have to feel worried that they won't be able to pay for or access treatment....or wait indefinitely for a diagnosis. I'm sorry you went through that!
