CGM

My insurance doesn’t cover a cgm because my pancreas levels are not low enough because I have type 2. However I’m a massage therapist and I can’t test on the normal sites on my hands or forearms. I need to be using insulin but I don’t want to use it without testing. I have tired to appeal this with my insurance because I don’t want a staff infection from not having a cgm. They denied it. Any tips on help paying for or getting an affordable cgm?

  1. Hi - how frustrating that must be! Thinking of you. Have you checked in with your doctor's office/pharmacist to see if there's anything else they recommend or some way they may be able to work with your insurance / submit anything to them that may help you be able to get it covered from their end? I know how hard it can be to deal with insurance and try appeals, etc. There are some resources/programs/tips here that may help too:

Thinking of you - keep us updated on what you find out / how this proceeds - hope there will be a way for you.

    1. I am sure your doctor can recommend more options for you. Get wel soon.

      1. talk to your doctor about it then coordinate with your insurance company. There is always a way for everything.

        1. My father using cgm and there is some reaction we have noticed, his arm getting blue. we have scared and removed this device. I have shared my experience moreover you can talk to your doctor about it. hopefully they have some solution for your problem best of luck
