Being a Type2 definitely doesn’t get labeled as important. But sure gets labeled as lazy, overweight, and our fault that we have it!! I wish people and professionals would put that same effort in educating themselves about T2D!!

Not really tips , but just staying on top of . Medications, supplies, treatments, and making sure you know about Diabetes. The more you the easier it is to advocate. Especially if it effects your life on a 24/7 basis.

You are right it shouldn't be like this. But seriously my friends, coworkers, anyone who discovers that I am Type 2 usually take a double take because I am not "obese". It drives me nuts that there is such stigmas. But then again with any health condition there are stigmas. We must be our own advocates and do the research on our own. However, I do find there are too many theories, plans, ideas on how to control it that it gets overwhelming. So I focus on the help I get from my dietician and pharmacist. They have been so helpful through the last 10 years. They make sense for me. I also recently started going to a diabetes clinic and it's been amazing. They are so supportive and they get me.
