Carb cycling

New to site. So sorry if this has been asked before.

Does anyone have any insights on Carb Cycling?

  1. Hi - have you been trying carb cycling or has your doctor / care team mentioned it to you? Different approaches may work differently for individuals - so would love to hear your experience, and if others post about it that I see I will be sure to send your way as well! Always recommend checking in with one's doctor/dietitian/nutritionist before beginning anything new!

    1. What is carb cycling

      1. Hi @Melody Thompson, Carb cycling is switching high carb days (usually a day with heavy exercise), and low or even no carbs. It's definitely something you should talk to your doctor, nurse educator or RD about before undertaking. I hope that helps! -Warmly, Donna (team member)

    2. @Donna thank you for the information. I have never heard of carb cycling. I don't really exercise because of a spinal cord disease. On good days I can do laundry. On a different good day I can wash dishes. But after one good day it takes my body 2/3 days to recover.

      1. Can you do chair exercises? They are designed for people with limited mobility. Ask for a referral to exercise physiologist that specializes in limited mobility. Even if you can do 2-3 days per week may improve your stamina and energy. Let me know if this helps. Trinette Stanford, community moderator
