Victoza Side Effects Worry

I am 70 years old and was diagnosed with pre-diabetes in 2011.

Prediabetes

Unfortunately, I didn’t take it seriously, so I find myself now with an A1c of 9. I was on Metformin earlier, but side effects were not manageable.

A new recommended treatment

Now, new Dr. has prescribed Victoza with Jardiance. After researching side effects and reading warnings about Victoza, I asked my Dr. for a different med. She put me on Glipizide, but told me I should expect to gain weight, instead of losing weight on Victoza. I’ve had two spinal fusions and both knees replaced, and it is very difficult for me to exercise.

Do others worry?

I’ve controlled my glucose levels and have lost 10 lbs, but seem to be at a standstill. Is anyone else worried about the cancer risk with Victoza??
