Special Valentine's Gift

I was diagnosed a couple of days before Valentine's day in 1987.

Candy for candles

My husband had already bought a big box of candy for my Valentine's gift. When I told him what my doctor had said, he took the candy back to the store and bought two white candles with red hearts on them and two candlesticks.

Thus began my journey with this disease.

I still have the candles.
