Peanut Butter Cherry Bars

I created this recipe after spending a weekend in Traverse City, which is considered by some to be the “Cherry Capital of the World.” This recipe can be enjoyed as a small breakfast or help curb a sweet craving.

Makes 9 servings

Ingredients for peanut butter cherry bars

  • ½ cup rolled oats
  • ½ cup peanut butter
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 egg
  • ½ tsp. baking soda
  • ¼ cup dried cherries

Directions for peanut butter cherry bars

  1. Preheat over to 350 degrees Fahrenheit
  2. Grease 9” x 9” baking dish
  3. Combine all ingredients (except cherries) using an electric mixer
  4. Fold in cherries with spatula
  5. Use spatula to evenly spread mixture into bottom of baking dish
  6. Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 20 minutes
  7. Cool for 20 minutes
  8. Cut into 9 even bars
  9. Place bars on cooling rack
  10. Enjoy!
