Ingredients for dark chocolate orange mousse
- ½ cup part skim ricotta cheese
- 1 square (approx. 1 oz) 100% cacao unsweetened baking chocolate
- 1 tbsp freshly squeezed orange juice
- Optional: A pinch of orange zest for extra brightness
Directions for dark chocolate orange mousse
- Melt the chocolate. Place the chocolate square in a small microwave-safe bowl. Heat in 20-second intervals, stirring in between, until completely smooth (approximately 40–60 seconds total).
- Add ⅓ of the melted chocolate to the ricotta cheese. Stir immediately and vigorously until the chocolate is fully incorporated and the mixture is smooth.
- Stir in the orange juice (and optional zest) until well combined.
- Pour the remaining melted chocolate over the top of the mousse.
- Let the dish chill for 2–3 minutes in the until the chocolate top has hardened into a thin shell.
- Enjoy immediately, or refrigerate for a firmer, chilled texture.
