Ingredients for dark chocolate orange mousse

  • ½ cup part skim ricotta cheese
  • 1 square (approx. 1 oz) 100% cacao unsweetened baking chocolate
  • 1 tbsp freshly squeezed orange juice
  • Optional: A pinch of orange zest for extra brightness

Directions for dark chocolate orange mousse

  1. Melt the chocolate. Place the chocolate square in a small microwave-safe bowl. Heat in 20-second intervals, stirring in between, until completely smooth (approximately 40–60 seconds total).
  2. Add ⅓ of the melted chocolate to the ricotta cheese. Stir immediately and vigorously until the chocolate is fully incorporated and the mixture is smooth.
  3. Stir in the orange juice (and optional zest) until well combined.
  4. Pour the remaining melted chocolate over the top of the mousse.
  5. Let the dish chill for 2–3 minutes in the until the chocolate top has hardened into a thin shell.
  6. Enjoy immediately, or refrigerate for a firmer, chilled texture.
