Type 2 Diabetic with DME

Hi everyone - Newly diagnosed type 2 diabetic - 43 year old woman. End of June went to the Eye Dr thinking I was needing new lenses but far from it. Diabetic Retinopathy (DME) and I'm very scared. I had hight blood pressure too and that is now under control as is my blood sugars but this eye vision has been out of bounds scary. No matter what I do now apparently the disease has progressed so much. My right eye is super blurry and I'm trying to "save" the left eye at this point with Injections but now I need a laser treatment. My emotions are all over the place.

  1. I am very sorry to hear that. I hope the treatment goes well for you.

      1. so sorry to hear about these progressions. It can be really challenging and stressful. I'm glad you have seen the eye doc and that you are getting treatment. Keep working on making things better for yourself. Hopefully, our site will be helpful for you in that journey. ~Liz, Moderator
