I have been a diabetic for 20 years. I am no longer in denial since I am insulin resistant. I am blessed to have a wife who monitors my Dexcom like a hawk and keeps me on track. I have used Splenda or Sucralose for years and have had no problems

  1. Thanks for sharing your story and experience with us. Sounds like your wife is a great support to you. How do you like using the Dexcom? I know many here would be interested to hear. Wishing you the best, Kelly, Type2diabetes.com Community Moderator

    1. I love it. It has taken me almost two years to get it. It is a real blessing not to have to poke my fingers any more

      1. I just asked my doctor for a referral and got it in no time

      2. Hi ! It's good to hear from you! You've been using the CGM for quite a while now. Is your blood sugar well-managed at this point? Warm wishes. - Lori (Team Member)

    2. I use stevia and monk fruit sweeteners. I react to any other ones.

      1. Thanks for sharing! Glad you've found some that you are able to tolerate. Best, Kelly, Type2diabetes.com Community Moderator

    3. I've been using stevia (in liquid form, which is better than the powder) and honey. Some people have concerns about the processing or additives in some stevia products, but I find it works for me. Just keep in mind that honey does contain natural sugars, so it's important to monitor your blood glucose levels when using it.
I also add cinnamon to my coffee and tea because it tastes good and some people find it may help with blood sugar, though the evidence is limited!

      1. That sounds like a healthy and delicious way to start the day. It almost makes me crave a cool, fall morning. Thanks for chiming in. - Lori (Team Member)
