NEED SOME ADVICE PLEASE

A loved one who was my neighbor passed away & shortly before he passed he had vision issues! His daughter was pretty much the one who dealt with his med refills, groceries, medical appts.. She stopped getting his metaformin & high blood pressure meds to where he did not have them also his high blood pressure meds were not filled so he again had no meds. My question is could that be a reason he had vision issues & died shortly after? she held his monthly retirement pay & would only give him $100 to $200 a month for his food & his cats food, his houshold items I.E. tiolet paper, bath soap, laundry soap & so on.. How can someone do that to their parent or anyone they loved & cared for? Should I report her to agency regarding neglect & to social security for keeping his money & only giving him $100 to $200 a month to live on

  1. , I'm so sorry for your loss. That is so sad to hear what his daughter did to him. It is possible for diabetes complications to impact vision. And there are serious complications that can occur when health conditions like diabetes aren't well managed. Though like everything else, it's possible that there's more to the story. I haven't had a similar experience and don't recall anyone in the community mentioning one before. But if you have concerns, it may be a good idea to look into the process of filing a report or other legal advice. Warmly, Minel (Team Member)
