Hi everyone

I’m having severe anxiety, my doctor wants to go over my blood work I have a phone appointment with him tomorrow, I have really bad anxiety around my Type 2 diabetes. And right now I have a bladder infection that I have to talk to him about to. This stared last Friday. I was going to go to urgent care but they don’t deal with bladder infections, and hard to get in to see my doctor, so he set up this appointment by phone for my blood work, so I thought I would wait till this appointment. I am so stressed and anxious right now. Told my husband my anxiety is way up there and no response. I just don’t have any support and it makes me anxious more I’m in tears right now.

  1. Hi . You are not alone. Lots of people suffer anxiety when they have to deal with doctors. Have you ever talked to a professional about your fear? It might help to learn some calming techniques from a therapist. When I am anxious, I either use a phone meditation app to calm my nerves or I practice my breathing techniques from childbirth, breathing in for four seconds, holding my breath for a few seconds and then breathing out for eight seconds. Do you know whether any specific fear triggers your anxiety? Your bladder infection might show up in your bloodwork. If not, you'll probably have to provide a urine sample before you are treated, but I am glad you are addrressing it at this appointment. Please let us know how it goes. Thinking of you. - Lori (Team Member)
