Coping

I know Diabetes is a full time job, but please don’t blame me for something I didn’t ask for and please stop treating me like it’s my fault. Don’t complain when I have to make adjustments for something You can’t understand.

  1. I completely agree with this. People should be more sensitive about other people's feelings.

    1. It’s hard for people to be sensitive. To something they don’t understand and can’t see.

      1. It never ceases to amaze me at the lack of compassion that some people display. I'm sorry that people have been treating you that way. Sending hugs. ~Liz, Moderator

        1. it’s been a difficult road for me with Diabetes. My family doesn’t understand it, workplace doesn’t understand it, and sometimes it’s a challenge for me . Trying to navigate by myself and live my life is still very difficult for me .

        2. I can understand. Unfortunately/fortunately, I have been surrounded by others with diabetes for quite some time and received a more mind-blowing, earth-shattering diagnosis first (bladder cancer), so learning to deal with my diabetes diagnosis was a little bit better for me. I've been working from home in mostly health-related fields since I received my diagnosis, which makes it easier to do what I need to do to take care of myself on a number of levels. I hope that you figure out how to deal with it all a bit better and find some more compassionate, like-minded people to surround yourself with soon. ~Liz, Moderator

      2. im definitely trying to just get through everything. I’m not sure at this point that. That I even have time to look or surround myself with like minded people . It’s a full time job just trying to manage my Diabetes. Seems like . I’m either explaining why I have to do certain things , or explaining why Type2 is very serious as well .
