Hi my name is Lorrie I'm 59 years old. I developed diabetes in 2006 but I reversed it and now I am on medication (metformin). It started again with my BP rising due to weaning off the medication. I didn't know the consequences.

Managing grief and fear

I had just lost my husband, and before that my only child, my mom, my dad, and all my aunts and uncles in 5.5 years. After being diagnosed I weighed 110 pounds. I was put on metformin and now weigh 92 pounds, almost 2 years later. I cannot put on weight no matter what I do. I am scared of dying! My A1c was 6.6 and I got the flu after that so my blood sugars have been going over 200. I'm so confused, I emailed the doctor and she is no help. She said metformin does not make you loose that amount of weight. I did a colonoscopy and the results came back fine. I haven't done my pap in 8 years. I totally forgot to keep up with it due to all the deaths in my family. I feel so frustrated! I'm alone and depressed but I eat! I'm feeling scared.
