Hello!

I am recently diagnosed with type 2 diabetes, but am gonna be on an oral medication. We dunno which one yet.

I am..okay so far with this. I spoke to a dietitan about a meal plan for me and we're carb counting and watching portions. I can only eat so many carbs per meal, and have a morning snack and afternoon snack.

  1. Hi ! You've come to the right place. It's good to hear you are speaking with a dietitian as tolerances can often vary by person they can be very helpful for coming up with individual plans! We're here for you. Do continue to keep us updated if you'd like to. And reach out if you have any questions! (https://type2diabetes.com/forums) Best, Margot, Team Member

    1. Hi. I was diagnosed on March 28 2022. I was lucky because mine is pre-diabetes not full blown. I am on metaforin 2000mg a Day.

Since then I have lost 60 lbs and cut out all added sugars. For what it is worth I went on a Dirty Keto diet, Intermittently Fast (16/😎 and have been using a freestyle libre for the last 3 months. It costs me 70 a month out of pocket and worth it.

My a1c on the last 2 draws is 5.1. Third draw is later this month.

Whatever path you take keep an eye on your electrolytes. As much as possible walk half hour after meal.

Look at trying Monkfruit, Alluose, Stevia or Swerve to replace added sugars in drinks and cooking.

Good luck hope you get a handle on your new normal
