Basil Pesto

This pesto is free of nuts and cheese for all of those that may be allergic to either. I find it hard to find any pesto free of nuts so I usually make my own. You can use this pesto and top on chicken, zucchini pasta, or an array of veggies.

Makes 4 servings
Serving size: 1/2 tbsp per serving
Prep time: 15 minutes

Ingredients for basil pesto

  • 1 cup fresh basil
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp minced garlic
  • 1/2 tsp lemon juice

Directions for basil pesto

  1. Chop basil and garlic finely on a cutting board.
  2. Add olive oil and lemon juice then mix together.
