Diabetes New Year’s Resolutions

New Year’s Resolutions and Diabetes Checklist

Happy New Year! It’s that time of year again, where many of us make New Year’s resolutions, which often include goals to better our health. The holiday season can be a difficult time to stay focused with managing your diabetes, making healthy food choices, and exercising. Although taking care of your diabetes every day is crucial, what better time than the New Year to help you recover from all the holiday feasts, and re-focus on taking better control of your diabetes and improving your health? The New Year, 2017 is a perfect time to look at your diabetes to-do list, and focus on areas that perhaps you are overdue or can improve on. Managing diabetes and preventing its complications in general can be overwhelming, and following up with appropriate providers and appointments may slip through the cracks. Remember recommendations may vary per individual, so make sure you always discuss specifics with your provider.
